Being a Swiftie is definitely a roller coaster! I will never forget that terrible feeling of being screwed over by Ticketmaster trying to attend Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. I had my presale code ready to go and my hopes were high! However, after waiting in that horrendous queue, I was unable to purchase any presale tickets. Every time I had tickets in my cart, they were somehow snatched from me and would be unavailable at checkout. By the end of that day, I had no tickets and could only purchase resale tickets at ridiculous prices. I decided to wait for a later time in hopes that ticket prices would go down closer to the concert date.
Fast forward a few months and I received an email from Ticketmaster. They had been in hot water because my experience was shared with many other Swifties. It seemed that scalpers had been taking tickets from the carts of everyone and leaving actual fans with the options of not going or paying some jerk their ridiculous asking price. The email I received from them was fairly vague in the sense where they offered me an opportunity to buy a ticket by naming my price range and not telling me the seat options. I kept my price range under $300 and waited patiently.
Eventually I received a follow up email and they charged my credit card. Luckily, I was able to get decent seats at face value! At right under $268 a ticket, my friend and I were placed in Section238 and the view was perfect! I could easily see the stage and each of the screens. Along with the view, the seats themselves were well spaced. I never once felt cramped or felt like I was bumping into the people next to me. Though the seats themselves were only used in between sets because everyone was standing the majority of the time.
Arriving to SoFi stadium was a breeze. The metro was offering free shuttles and parking (roughly 15 minutes away from the stadium) only cost me $29 after online fees. This beats the $90-$1,600 I saw being asked for in order to park in the stadium’s lot! Swifties did not disappoint as I immediately saw everyone dressed according to their favorite Taylor Swift era when I entered the parking lot. I went with the easiest last minute outfit and recreated the outfit Taylor wore in her ”You Belong With Me” music video. To make the experience even more magical, the Metro shuttles had a sign specific to Taylor Nation!
When I finally made my way to my seat, I saw that inside the cupholder for each seat was a bracelet that created a mini lightshow alongside the concert using bluetooth. Combine thousands of bracelets and the arena exploded with vibrant colors that flowed with the mood Taylor was presenting with her music. This technology is fantastic and the first time I experienced something like this was with the bracelets and lightsticks using bluetooth to create waves of brilliant colors during the Blackpink concert back in November of 2022.
The concert had SO many highlights! Her setlist could easily be found online, but it truly was the most magical and well planned 3 hours ever! Singing Screaming the lyrics to my favorite Taylor Swift songs alongside thousands of other fans felt spiritual in how we could all be brought together with one person’s music as well as cathartic as the emotions poured out of each our mouths shouting the words we connect with in such passionate yells! If you were able to attend any one of her shows, you understand the emotions I am having trouble expressing through words. Just to give a quick highlight, here are clips from that magical night!
